Safiyya's story - How I became a Career and Performance Coach:

With a degree in Media Production & Technology I spent over 10 years working in the media industry. The fast-paced and somewhat temporary media world was all I knew for so many years. I spent most of those years working in London. Whilst I enjoyed my Media jobs I always felt like something was missing and that I wanted more out of life than a daily commute followed by a 12 hour day.

In 2017 I was made redundant from a job I had been doing for over a year. It was the necessary push I needed to make the well needed changes in my life.

I started my self development journey, reading books, exercising and re-connecting with myself.

I went travelling to Peru and Bolivia for many weeks. I used that time to meditate and work on self reflection. It was on this journey that I met someone who asked me if I had considered a career in coaching as they thought I would be good at it. At this point I didn't even know what coaching was, let alone doing it for a career.

Upon my return to the UK, I looked into coaching and decided that it was definitely for me. Helping clients' to realise their potential and reach their goals quicker than they could do it alone. I studied Personal Performance Coaching for the following year and qualified with Merit.

I feel blessed to have finally reached my goals and desires. I am thankful for the journey it took to get here, however, I believe if I had a Careers Coach, I would have got here so much quicker and I would already be enjoying the life I'm living now a very long time ago. I'm here to help you discover your potential, realise your goals, and to help get you to where you want to be faster than if you were to do it alone.
